this is so us

This evening I was frazzled.  The little guy was cranky.  I couldn’t get the grill going.  The burger wasn’t quite thawed.  I couldn’t get a hold of John.  And I was hungry!

The boys were running around like mad men in the backyard when I peeked on them and discovered them in the picture above.

I can’t tell you how much I love this picture, because it feels like us.

Those two boys.  One with straight hair, one with curly.  One with pure sweetness, one with spunk.

Even in their worst hours, I want ten more just like them.

They fill my heart and consume my days, and I really do feel like the luckiest lady in the world.

I’m off to find room in our bed, because our four year old is sleeping with us tonight.  He just woke up from a recurring bad dream about “not getting a real candy bar.”  It’s a tough life, kid. 🙂
